The Benefits of Membership
Aside from supporting an organization whose contribution and commitment to the heritage
community is irreplaceable, there are many benefits to being a member of FNSH.

Education
Through our various professional development programs FNSH is committed to supporting our members’
professional needs through education. In addition, we house a resource library of works relevant to those
involved in heritage in Nova Scotia. The Federation of Nova Scotian Heritage is also a great place to learn
about current grant and funding sources.
Networking
FNSH supports and promotes communication between members through workshops, conferences, an online
newsletter, the Flash, contact with our staff, and regional representation on our Board of Directors. We also
offer connections to local media, schools and tourism groups, as well as the general public in order to promote
the heritage activities of our members.
FNSH reflects the needs and concerns of our members to all levels of government by working with a variety of
federal and provincial government agencies. We also work in association with the Nova Scotia Department of
Tourism, Culture and Heritage, the Cultural Federations of Nova Scotia, the Heritage Canada Foundation, the
Council of Nova Scotia Archives, and the Canadian Museums Association.
Advocacy

Note: Renewal fees paid after May 26, 2008 are subject to a late payment fee. Late organization
memberships are subject to a $25 late fee. Late individual memberships are subject to a $10 late fee. Does not
apply to new members. Your membership runs from date of payment until 30 days after the 2009 AGM.
